Unlike Ticket Groups, guests don’t see Ticket Categories when purchasing tickets.
For example, your ticket types might be:
- General Admission
- VIP
- Child
- Parking Pass
- Camping Pass
You could organise them into categories such as:
- Human
- Parking
- Accommodation
Add a Ticket Category
1
Open your Event Dashboard.
2
Go to Manage Checkout → Ticket Types.
3
Expand the ticket type you want to categorise.
4
Find the Ticket Category field.
5
Enter a new category name or select an existing one.
Why use Ticket Categories?
Categories are particularly useful when you want to understand different types of attendance and access activity.
Attendee check-ins
Group attendee ticket types into a category so you can quickly understand how many people in that category have checked in.
Parking-pass usage
Use a Parking category to separate vehicle or parking passes from attendee tickets when reviewing check-in information.
Camping or accommodation check-ins
Group camping, glamping or other accommodation tickets together so you can track accommodation-related check-ins separately.
VIP attendance
Use a VIP category when you need to monitor attendance for specific higher-access or special guest ticket types.
Different access areas
Categories can help distinguish tickets intended for different areas or access purposes when reviewing event operations.
Scanner activity
Use categories alongside your check-in information to better understand how different ticket groups are being processed during your event.
View category reports
Go to:
Reports → Check-In Report
The Ticket Category tab shows the number of tickets issued and checked in for each category, along with attendance percentages.
