How to Use Quicket POS for Fast, Easy Ticket Sales at the Door

How to use Quicket POS at your door

We know that managing ticket sales at an event can be stressful, especially when handling different payment methods, tracking transactions, and ensuring a smooth check-in process. Without the right tools, long queues, payment delays, and lost income can quickly become a problem.

That’s where the new Quicket Point of Sale (POS) app comes in. Designed to simplify on-site ticket sales and payments, it provides a fast and reliable way to process transactions. The app is Yoco integrated to facilitate card payments with ease. It also supports cash, SnapScan payments, and the use of external card machines.

The Quicket POS app keeps all your event sales data in one centralised place, and allows you to see your real-time door sales right from the Quicket dashboard. So, you’re always in the loop!

With a tablet running the Quicket POS app and access to the Quicket website for event setup and reporting, you’ll have everything you need to sell tickets efficiently and keep lines moving. After you have set up your event and devices for Quicket POS, you can start selling tickets at the door. This article guides you through completing different transactions using Quicket POS.

One-day event without a seating plan

1.1. Select the tickets

Navigate to the Events screen and select your event. Then choose the ticket quantity by tapping the corresponding number. If the requested quantity exceeds five tickets, click More and use the minus and plus signs to adjust the order. Then click OK to return to the order screen.

If a promotion code applies to this order, click Enter a Promo Code
1.2. Complete the purchase

You have the option of entering the ticket buyer's email address so they can receive their receipt and tickets by email. Then select their preferred payment method. Only payment methods enabled for Quicket POS on the website during event creation will be displayed. Click here to learn how to set up your event for Quicket POS.

Note: You do not need to enter the ticket buyer’s email address in order to proceed with the payment. However, we recommend collecting their email address if time allows. Saving the ticket buyer’s email address will allow you to resend tickets, send future event notifications, and more.

  1. Yoco card payments: Select the Card button and switch on the Yoco machine. Once the payment has been successfully completed, click Close.
  1. External card machine payments: Select the External Card button. Then initiate the payment on the card machine and click Paid once payment has been successfully processed. The Card Payment Transaction Completed screen will display.
  1. Cash payments: Select the Cash button and use the keypad to enter the amount tendered by the ticket buyer. The change amount will display. After you have completed the transaction, click OK.
  1. SnapScan payments: Select the SnapScan button. A QR code will appear on screen. Have the ticket buyer scan this code with their SnapScan app, enter the amount due, and tap Pay to complete the transaction. Wait for the ticket buyer to complete the transaction on their mobile SnapScan app. The payment may take a few seconds to appear in the Quicket POS app. Please ask the ticket buyer to wait until the Payment Success screen displays.
After your sale has been captured, the  Order Completed Successfully screen will display. Here you will see a summary of the order, the receipt number, and payment type. You will also see the option to print your tickets, using the Quicket POS printer. To exit this screen, click Go to Events or click Sell More to be redirected to your event screen.

Then Confirm the selection.
A tick will appear on the selected seats. Click Checkout to proceed. Then enter the ticket buyer’s email address, select the applicable payment method, and review the purchase receipt.

Process a refund

If a customer needs a refund at the event, you can process it quickly using the Quicket POS app. Refunds can be issued for card, cash, or SnapScan payments. To start, browse to the Orders screen. Then select the relevant transaction from the list. You can search for the buyer's details or the order number.
  1. Cash refunds: Click the ticket’s checkbox and select the Refund button. Then hand the correct cash amount to the ticket buyer. Click the Cash button to record the refund in your event report.
  1. External card machine refunds: Tap on the relevant order listed on the Orders screen, tick the applicable orders and select Refund. Review the refund details, click External Card and manually issue the refund.
  1. Yoco card machine refunds: Locate the relevant order and click Refund. Review and confirm the order details, then select Card. Log in to your Yoco account and follow the prompts. The refunded amount will automatically be credited to the ticket buyer's account. For card refunds, you must use the same card that was used for the original transaction. Please refer to Yoco for details about refund payment processing times.
  1. SnapScan refunds: SnapScan doesn’t have a refund functionality, so all refunds must be issued in cash. To do so, navigate to the Orders screen, select the relevant transactions and tickets, then click Refund. Click the Cash button to record the refund in your event report.
Note: SnapScan refunds will be reconciled during your Quicket payout since SnapScan payments are collected by Quicket. Any SnapScan refunds you pay in cash will be reimbursed to you by Quicket.
