Set ticket quantities and event capacity

Set ticket quantities and event capacity
Ticket quantities and event capacity help prevent your event from overselling.

They work slightly differently:

Ticket quantity limits how many tickets of a specific type can be issued.
Event capacity limits the total number of tickets that can be issued across the entire event.
Set a ticket quantity
1
Open your Event Dashboard.
2
Go to Manage Checkout → Ticket Types.
3
Find the ticket type you want to update.
4
Enter the maximum number available under Quantity.
5
Select Save Tickets.
Set your total event capacity
1
Go to Manage Checkout → Ticket Types.
2
Turn Limit Event Capacity on.
3
Enter the maximum number of attendees allowed.
4
Select Save Tickets.
How the two limits work together

Imagine you have:

  • 100 Adult tickets
  • 50 Child tickets

If you don’t set an event capacity, you could sell up to 150 tickets.

If you set the event capacity to 100, Quicket will stop sales once 100 tickets have been issued in total, regardless of the mix of Adult and Child tickets.
Can I change these numbers later?
Yes. You can update both ticket quantities and event capacity as your event progresses.
Seating-plan events

If you use a seating plan, the seats and sections in the seating plan determine your available capacity. You won’t set a separate overall event capacity in the same way.

What’s next?
Continue configuring when tickets are sold and how capacity is managed.
